Carol Ann’s Worsh House: Not Your Average Laundromat

Carol Ann’s Worsh House is a laundromat located on 109 SW Arch Street in Atlanta, Illinois. This business was opened just a little over one year ago on account of the small town needing a place to wash or “worsh” their clothes after the previous laundromat owner passed away. Jared and Brandy Mattingly saw an opportunity to reopen the facility and stepped up to the task! The name “Carol Ann’s Worsh House” is named in honor of Jared’s mother, the late Carol Ann Mattingly. Both Jared and Brandy’s mothers used to “worsh” everything.

Residents like not having to drive out of town just to do laundry when it is needed. This nice, little business is an asset to the area. Brandy stated, “We love that we are beneficial to the community. We pride ourselves in making sure we keep a clean and efficient place for our customers.”

Carol Ann’s Worsh House provides a multitude of services. The price to use the washer is $2.75 per load and the dryer costs $0.25 for five minutes. There are also large washers that cost $6 per load and dryers that cost $0.25 for four minutes. These services are accessible seven days a week from 8 am to 9pm with the last load starting at 8 pm. They also offer a full wash and fold program geared to the elderly or people who don’t have time to do it themselves. To become a part of this program, they ask that you call them and set up a drop-off time and they do the rest. Prices start at $1.75 per pound with a 10-pound minimum and up to $30 for large mats.

Carol Ann's Worsh House and Laundry Service is a business that supports local events.  This past fall they featured several Olympia athletes with posters in their facility during Homecoming Week and they also hosted an aluminum can drive for the Humane Society of Logan County last spring.
